Birth date computed based on headstone inscription.2,3,4,5 He married Jane Dean in 1834 in New York, USA.6,7 On 1 January 1847 James Weaklam lived in Glens Falls, Warren, New York, USA. A newspaper article in 1888 listed names of men in the Glen division of teetotalers.8 On 1 July 1852 James Weaklam obtained a land patent for 80 acres of land under the Cash Entry Act of 24 Apr 1820. That act reduced the minimum price of public land to $1.25 per acre, and the minimum purchase to 80 acres, but required payment in cash, not on credit. His tract was described as the S½NE¼, section 30, township 12N, range 9E of the 4th PM - 1815 Illinois. Certificate number 18782. It is located aobut 4-5 miles north of Chillicothe in Marshall County, Illinois, USA.      I am not sure about this, I have lost the headstone photo and have not found any copies on line, or any indication that this headstone is located in the Yankee Lane Cemetery. James does not appear in the 1850 and 1860 US Census with the family.
There is a headstone in Glens Falls, NY for James Weaklam, son of James and Jane. That James died in 1845, within a couple of days of Jane. He was born on 15 November 1846.3 He was the son of James Weaklam and Jane Dean.1,2 He died on 16 April 1861 in Illinois, USA, at age 14.1 He was buried after 16 April 1861 in Yankee Lane Cemetery, Marshall County, Illinois, USA.3
