The paper notes that Carl was a telegraph operator working in Benkelman but his home was in Barr, Colorado.1,4 He and Anna Belle Pettit were divorced before 1916; I found no record of a divorce. Carl was living in Denver Colorado with his married sister and mother on the 1910 census so they probably separated priorto 1910.5 He was buried in 1948 in Crown Hill Cemetery, Wheat Ridge, Jefferson, Colorado, USA. Carl's plot was located in Block 33, Lot 150.6 He died in 1948.3
