     He was born on 28 August 1728 in Londonderry, Rockingham, New Hampshire, USA.2,3,1 He married Elizabeth Page, daughter of Caleb Page and Elizabeth Merrill, on 14 August 1757 in Derryfield (Now Dunbarton), Merrimack, New Hampshire, USA; Many other non-primary sources indicate they were married on August 20, 1758.4,1 He served as Colonel is his own regiment at Bunker Hill, in the Canadian expedition and in the New Jersey Campaign of 1776-77. As Brig. General, he commanded troops at the Battle of Bennington. Later he commanded at Saratoga and became comander of the Northern Dept. He was promoted to Major General at the end of the war. See Appletons' Cyclopedia for more details of his life.1,3 He died on 8 May 1822 in Manchester, Merrimack, New Hampshire, USA, at age 93.1 He was buried after 8 May 1822 in Stark Cemetery, Manchester, Hillsborough, New Hampshire, USA. John's plot was located in After entering park, drive down the hill. Grave is in fenced off area next to road.5

     He was born on 25 August 1873 in Iowa, USA.4,1 He was the son of Andrew B Starkey and Mary Frances Huntley.3 He married Salina Page, daughter of Stephen M Page and Permelia Adams, circa 1897. 1900 Census indicates they were married 3 years.1 He was Blacksmith in 1900 in Nebraska, USA.1 On 22 April 1901 George Lorenzo Starkey obtained a land patent for 160 acres of land under the Homestead Act of 20 May 1862. Under that act homesteaders could claim up to 160 acres after providing proof of farming the land for five years. His tract was described as the E½NW¼ and the E½SW¼ of section 22, township 1N, range 37W of the 6th PM. Certificate number 4445 in Dundy County, Nebraska, USA.5 The family (George, Salina, Glenn and Mable) arrived in San Francico on the steamship Umatilla. The passenger list indicates their intended destination was Los Angeles. on 11 January 1905.6 In November 1905 George Lorenzo Starkey lived , Ponoka, Ponoka, Alberta, Canada.7 He died on 10 June 1940 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada, at age 66.8,2 He was buried after 10 June 1940 in Wetaskiwin Cemetery, Wetaskiwin, Edmunton, Alberta, Canada.9
