It contained 125 acres, well watered, with a convenient dwelling-house and a large barn. Also mentioned in the 1813 "FOR SALE" ad was an extensive apple orchard. He and Maria were buried in the Van Patten burial ground, Barheyt Road. Mililtia. It is likely he was the sharpshooter who carried Claas' "Old
Hollander" flintlock into battle, a weapon prized by seven generations including Capt. Adam Conde of the Glenville Horse Artillery.
