The 6th Wiconsin Infantry Regiment was know as the "Iron Brigade."3 He died on 30 May 1875. His military headstone application lists his death as May 30, 1875 which is not consistent with a memorial plaque which states he died May 30, 1870. Since he appears in the 1870 US Census, age 45, in July of 1870, the death date of 1875 and the age on the memorial plaque are more consistent with an 1875 date of death.3,4,5 He was buried after 30 May 1875 in Union Cemetery, Symco, Waupaca, Wisconsin, USA.6

Benajah Applebee1

M, #5466, b. 13 September 1842, d. 10 February 1852
Mother*Mary Ann Morse1 b. 13 Feb 1818, d. 2 Nov 1865
Benajah Applebee was also known as Benajah Page.2,1 He was born on 13 September 1842 in Lisbon, Grafton, New Hampshire, USA; Age computed from age on headstone. Case and Sanderson (Family of John Page) have a different birth date. I'm basing this on the assumption that the Benajah Applebee, son of Mary Ann Applebee, is actually her son from her previous marriage to Benjamin Applebee. The 1850 census has 2 older children with the last name Applebee living with Moses and Mary Ann and one of them, Mehitable, has a marriage record listing her parents as Mary Ann and Benjamin Applebee.
The problem I have is that there is a Benjamin Applebee buried in the same cemetary as Benajah that died in 1840 according to his headstone. He's the logical Benamin Applebee married to Mary Ann Morse but he died about 2 years before Banajah was born.1,3 He was the son of Mary Ann Morse.1 He died on 10 February 1852 at age 9.2 He was buried after 10 February 1852 in Sunnyside Cemetery, Sugar Hill, Grafton, New Hampshire, USA.4
