* Barbara Gerhart-Van Petten passed from this life on April 9, 2008, in Prescott. She was 85 years old. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, on Aug. 30, 1922, to Walter and Carrie Gerhart of Marietta, Ohio. She graduated from Ohio State University in 1944 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Human Ecology.
Barbara is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Mary Ann Van Petten of Gaithersburg, Md; daughter Sue Van Petten of Prescott, Ariz; and daughter and son-in-law Mary Beth and Scott Shaub of North Potomac, Md. She is also survived by her sister Frances Burdette of Prescott, Ariz.
A private family and friends celebration of Barbara's life will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2008, at her home in Prescott. A brief spiritual memorial will take place at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local Humane Society or to Prescott Heritage Park Zoo.
