    GILLETTE - Memorial services for Mildred Mooney, 86, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the First Presbyterian Church in Gillette with Pastor Joel Wright officiating. Inurnment will follow at Gillette's Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

    She died Dec. 11, 2003, at the Pioneer Manor in Gillette of natural causes.

    She was born Nov. 11, 1917, in Davenport, Neb., to Edward E. and Marguerite (Lowrey) Burr. In 1918, her family moved to Rozet to the family farm. She was raised and educated in Rozet and graduated from high school in 1934. After graduation she went to normal school and received her normal training certificate in 1935.

    On June 26, 1935, she married Gordon B. Mooney in Gillette. They made their home on the Mooney Ranch west of Gillette and later divorced.
    She loved the ranch and enjoyed the livestock and calving season. Her favorite hobbies were spending time with her cat, growing flowers, listening to music and dancing.

    She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. In the past she had been a volunteer at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital and was a Campbell County 4-H sewing leader. During her working life, she was employed by various clothing stores in Gillette.

    She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, John Edward Mooney.

    Survivors include her daughter Margaret Ann Hladky, and two sons, Allen Mooney and Dan Mooney, all of Gillette; sister, Evelyn Fisher of Sheridan; five brothers, Charles Burr of Sheridan, Leslie Burr of Gillette, Walter Burr of Omaha, Neb., Kenneth Burr of Upton and Curtis Burr of Mesa, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

    In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to benefit the Heptner Oncology Unit at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, or a charity of the donor's choice. Donations may be sent in care of the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home, 210 W. Fifth St., Gillette, WY 82716.
