PRINCEVILLE - Esther May Begner, 87, of 19209 Jubilee Road died at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at Heartland Health Care Center in Galesburg.
Born July 8, 1917, in Streator to Horace Clarence and Bertha Weaklam Forney, she married Clifford Begner on Oct. 13, 1935, in Toulon. He died Aug. 23, 1971.
She also was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Surviving are three daughters, Alice (and Dale) Hammer and Phyllis (and Dale) Kniss, both of Galesburg, and Lena Huyett of Pauls Valley, Okla.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She worked as a cook in various restaurants in Princeville and Wyoming, Ill. She also worked at Princeville Canning Factory.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville. Deacon Robert Myers will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery.

Born May 31, 1906, in Streator to Horace and Bertha Weaklam Forney, she married Arthur Moates in 1923 in Streator. He died Dec. 21, 1952. She also was preceded in death by two daughters and one sister.
Surviving are three daughters, Betty Bridgeman, Lois Henson and Ruth Demetreon, all of Chillicothe; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Earl Forney of Chillicothe; and one sister, Esther Begner of Princeville.
She attended Edelstein Congregational United Church of Christ for many years.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Weber Funeral Home in Chillicothe. The Rev. Gladys Herzog will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery in rural Chillicothe.
