     He was born on 10 December 1842 in Hannibal, Oswego, New York, USA.4,5,6 He was the son of David Farnham and Juliet Mason.2,3 He married Elsie Maria van Petten, daughter of Nicholas Veeder van Petten and Ann Ecker, on 29 March 1870.5,1 He was a member of the faculty of Oswego State Normal and Training School where his subject was geology from 1894 to 1913.5 He died on 11 December 1919 in Syracuse, Onondaga, New York, USA, at age 77.7 He was buried after 11 December 1919 in Hannibal Village Cemetery, Hannibal, Oswego, New York, USA.6
