He was a sales representative for General Electric and served in the Air Force for 22 years, attaining the rank of senior master sergeant. Mr. Newby was born Jan. 9, 1928, in Reserve, Kan. He was married Aug. 27, 1949, to Leota Michael. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Garl Michael, Keith Wayne and Dale Shawn; two daughters, Gail Zarkowski and Cathy Krupa; a brother, Stanley; and two grandchildren. No services are planned.
