     John Linville Craft was born on 28 November 1832 in Kentucky, USA.1,3 He married Nancy Back, daughter of Joseph Back and Permelia Belle Hogg, on 11 August 1856 in Breathitt, Kentucky, USA; Mabry lists date as 1857.1,4 John Linville Craft and Nancy Back appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of District 1, Breathitt, Kentucky, USA, enumerated 17 July 1860. Their daughter Mary was listed as living with them.5 John Linville Craft began military service on 1 October 1862 in Whitesburg, Letcher, Kentucky, USA. He served in Company A and C of the CSA 13th Kentucky Cavalry. Enlisted as a Private and left as a 1st Lt.6 He died on 7 June 1905 in Kentucky, USA, at age 72.1,2 He was buried after 7 June 1905 in Johnson Cemetery, Dan Ridge, Menifee, Kentucky, USA.7
