     Simon Frederickse Van Patten was also known as Symon.1 He was baptized on 6 January 1751 in Schenectady, Schenectady, New York, USA.2 He was born on 6 January 1750/51 in Schenectady, Albany, New York, USA.1 He was the son of Frederick Nicholas Van Petten and Elizabeth Groot.1 Simon Frederickse Van Patten married Maria Wendel on 11 July 1777.1 Simon was commissioned a 2nd Lieut. in Capt. John Van Patten's company of the 2nd Albany Militia. His farm was 4 miles from Schenectady on the Mohawk Turnpike leading to Utica, adjoining the property of John Haverly. It contained 125 acres, well watered, with a convenient dwelling-house and a large barn. Also mentioned in the 1813 "FOR SALE" ad was an extensive apple orchard. He and Maria were buried in the Van Patten burial ground, Barheydt Road, Glenville; removed to West Glenville Ref. Ch. Cemetery in 1962. He was described as a tapster. circa 1780.1 Simon Frederickse Van Patten died in 1819 in Glenville, Schenectady, New York, USA.1
